❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Is there a written exam for this recruitment?

No. Selection is based entirely on the 6-tier DoPT order of preference tied to your sporting achievements — there is no written test for any of the three posts.

Q2. Can I apply for more than one post?

Yes — in a single application, you can apply for one or more of the three posts, and select more than one sport/game. But you must submit only one application total; multiple applications get all of them summarily rejected.

Q3. What if my sports certificate isn't from the listed authorities?

It will be treated as invalid. Only certificates from the specific competent authority for your level of competition (see the Form 1–5 table above) are accepted — without at least one valid certificate, you are not eligible to apply.

Q4. Does my sports achievement need to be recent?

It must have occurred on or before 10.08.2026, the notification date. Anything achieved after that date won't be considered for this recruitment.

Q5. Is there a skill test after selection?

Yes, for two posts — Stenographer Grade-II candidates take a shorthand/transcription skill test, and Tax Assistant candidates take a data-entry skill test (8,000 key depressions/hour). MTS has no such test.
