🚨 Important: Check Your e-Summon Letter Carefully

The first page of the UPSC notice clearly states that reporting time is 09:00 Hours for the Forenoon Session and 13:00 Hours for the Afternoon Session. However, a few entries in the roll-number tables of the official PDF appear to show “AFTERNOON AT 0900 HRS”. Therefore, Sarkari Nokrii strongly advises affected candidates to follow their candidate-specific e-Summon Letter and latest UPSC instructions for the final reporting time instead of relying on a copied schedule entry.

🎫 UPSC Geo-Scientist e-Summon Letter 2026

UPSC states that the e-Summon Letters for Personality Test/Interview of the 200 scheduled candidates will be made available shortly.

Candidates should regularly check:

  • UPSC official website
  • UPSC Online portal
  • Their candidate-specific login, wherever applicable
📌 Important:
The schedule notice itself is not a substitute for the e-Summon Letter. Candidates should download and read the e-Summon Letter when released because it may contain candidate-specific reporting and interview instructions.

🔄 Can the Interview Date or Time Be Changed?

UPSC has clearly stated that a request for change in the allotted date and time of Personality Test/Interview will ordinarily not be entertained.

Candidates should therefore plan travel, accommodation and other arrangements based on their official schedule well in advance.

🚆 Travelling Allowance for UPSC Interview Candidates

One useful provision mentioned in the UPSC notice is a contribution towards travelling expenses for candidates appearing for interview.

Travel contribution is restricted to:

🚆 Second / Sleeper Class Train Fare (Mail/Express)

If a candidate travels by another mode or class, UPSC states that the contribution will still be dealt with/restricted to the applicable Second/Sleeper Class Mail/Express train fare.

📂 Candidates Travelling From Outside Delhi — Carry These

Candidates coming from outside Delhi should bring:

  • Two duly filled copies of the TA Bill Form
  • Details of both onward and return journeys
  • Hard copies of travel tickets

The Travelling Allowance Form for candidates is available from the UPSC Forms/Downloads section.

⚠️ Don't Forget the Tickets:
UPSC specifically advises candidates to bring hard copies of tickets. If these cannot be brought, the notice says ticket copies may be emailed well in advance to accounts1.upsc@gov.in before entering the Commission premises.

💵 When Is the Travel Contribution Paid?

According to the notice, the Commission's contribution towards the candidate's to-and-fro journey may be collected from the Cashier of the Commission's office on the day of the Personality Test/Interview before leaving the Commission.

🎤 Why the Personality Test Stage Matters

Candidates appearing in this schedule have already cleared the written stage of the Combined Geo-Scientist examination. The Personality Test is therefore a critical stage in the final selection process.

Preparation should not be restricted to revising academic definitions. Candidates should also be ready to discuss their subject knowledge, academic background, practical understanding, current developments relevant to their discipline and their suitability for the services/posts concerned.
