About the Examinations

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released a comprehensive notification for three distinct competitive examinations: Architectural Assistant, Estate Manager, and Microbiologist. All three examinations will be conducted by UPPSC under the OTR (One Time Registration) based online application system. Candidates applying must be Indian citizens and must register on the OTR portal before applying.

Application Fee

Age Limit & Relaxation

• General Category: Minimum 21 years and maximum 40 years as on 01 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC/ST/OBC of UP, Skilled Players, State Govt. Employees: 5 years relaxation.
  • Physically Handicapped (PwD) of UP: 15 years relaxation.
  • Ex-Servicemen / Emergency Commissioned Officers: 3 years + period of service rendered.

Chief Minister Fellowship Research Scholars – Age Relaxation

Research scholars who have successfully completed their tenure under the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme will receive age relaxation up to 03 years in the maximum age limit. The relaxation is provided as follows:

• 1 year completed – Relaxation of 01 year.
• 2 years completed – Relaxation of 02 years.
• 3 years or more completed – Relaxation of 03 years.

Note: The tenure will be calculated as on 1st July of the advertisement year. Age relaxation will only be provided to those research scholars who have completed the maximum age limit prescribed for Government Service while completing the fellowship.

Other Key Eligibility Conditions

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess the requisite qualification as per the specific post's service rules by the last date of application.
• Nationality: Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
• NOC for Government Employees: Candidates serving under the Central or State Government will have to produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of document verification.
• Domicile: Candidates who are not originally domiciled in Uttar Pradesh are not entitled to the benefit of reservation/age relaxation reserved for UP residents.

Detailed Application Process – OTR & Online Form

What is OTR (One Time Registration)?

UPPSC has implemented an OTR-based application system. Candidates must first register on the OTR portal (https://otr.parkisha.nic.in) to obtain a unique OTR number. Candidates who have already obtained an OTR number can use it directly.

Mandatory Pre-requisite: Candidates must obtain their OTR number at least 72 hours before submitting the online application.

Step-by-Step Application Process

The online application consists of four stages:

1. Stage 1 – Authentication with OTR: Visit UPPSC portal, authenticate via OTP or password using your OTR number. Personal details auto-fill from OTR data.
2. Stage 2 – Submit Details: Fill in preferential qualifications and address details.
3. Stage 3 – Fee Payment: Pay the prescribed fee via Net Banking, Card, or other modes through the SBI MOPS gateway. Print the Payment Transaction Slip.
4. Stage 4 – Final Submission: After successful payment, the application form is displayed. Take a printout and keep it safe for future reference.

Correction/Modification Window

After submission, candidates may modify the application form only once before the last date for correction/modification, i.e., 10 September 2026, by logging into the Candidate Dashboard.

Important Instructions for Online Application

• The category, sub-category, domicile, gender, date of birth, EWS, creamy layer, and address as claimed by the candidate till the last date/modification date will be considered valid. No representation for change will be entertained after the last date.
• Any concealment or misrepresentation of information will lead to cancellation of candidature and debarment from this and all future examinations/selections for up to five years.
• If a candidate is subsequently found ineligible, their candidature will be cancelled, and any recommendation for appointment will be withdrawn.
• Incomplete applications or applications without photographs/signatures will be summarily rejected.

Exam Pattern, Negative Marking & OMR Rules

Examination Scheme

The examinations will be conducted in an objective type (OMR) format. While the specific marks distribution per post is detailed in the syllabus sections, the general rules applicable to all exams are:

OMR Answer Sheet Instructions

• Use black ball point pen only. Use of any other pen or pencil is strictly prohibited.
• Do not use whitener, blade, pin, or rubber on the OMR sheet.
• Properly blacken the circles so they are decipherable by the scanner machine.
• The OMR sheet comes in three copies: Original (Pink), Preserved (Green), and Candidate's copy (Blue). The invigilator submits Pink and Green; the candidate keeps the Blue copy.

• History of India and Indian National Movement: Outline of the History of Ancient, Medieval, and Modern India, and contributions of India's freedom movement.
• Geography of India and Uttar Pradesh: Physical features, climate, natural resources, etc.
• Current Events: Important current affairs of National and International importance, including games and sports.
• Indian Polity: Indian Constitution, Panchayati Raj, Government, and Politics of Uttar Pradesh.

• Indian Agriculture: Schemes and programmes for agricultural development, crop patterns, basic knowledge of agriculture, and export/import.

Subject: Architecture (Paper 2)

• Design, Architecture and Construction: Principles of design, philosophy of design, visual composition in 2D and 3D. Anthropometrics, organization of spaces, circulation. Building materials like mud, brick, stone, bamboo, timber, lime, concrete, glass, wood, metal, and modern composite materials.
• Drawing, Graphic and Presentation: Preliminary sketch, presentation drawing, scale, working drawing, and preparing drawings in conventional and modern digital modes like CAD, Revit, and others.
• History and Contemporary Architecture: Indian Valley Civilization, Vedic civilization, Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain periods. Temple architecture, Mughal architecture, and modern contemporary works.
• Climatology, Acoustics, Lighting and Illumination: Elements of climate, climate zones, orientation of buildings, climate-responsive design. Basics of acoustics, noise control, and artificial lighting.
• Public Health Engineering and Building Services: Water supply, wastewater systems, drainage, solid waste management, basic principles of electricity, refrigeration, air-conditioning, and building safety.
• Applied Mechanics and Structures: Principles of mechanics, equilibrium, shear force, bending moment, beams, columns, and basic design of steel and RCC structures.
• Estimation, Costing and Specifications: Methods of taking out quantities, preliminary and detailed estimation, analysis of rates, and general specifications.

2. Estate Manager Examination Syllabus

Subject: Mathematics (Paper 1, Unit 1 & 2)

• Unit 1: Problems based on Arithmetic (AP, GP), Harmonic and Geometric Series, Ratio, Percentage, Average, Time and Work, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Permutation and Combination, LCM and HCF, Surds and Indices.

Subject: General Awareness & Hindi (Paper 2)

• Unit 3 – Hindi Language: Sandhi (definition and types), Samas (definition and types), Upsarg and Pratyay (definition and types). Devanagari script (origin, development, features, limitations, corrections). Hindi Grammar (Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Verb, and their types). • Unit 4 – Computer: Fundamental of Computer, History, Applications, Organization, Data Representation, Number System, Software, Operating Systems. LAN/WAN/MAN, Network Devices. Introduction to Internet, WWW, E-mail, Cyber Crimes and Cyber Laws.
• Unit 5 – General Knowledge & Logical Reasoning: Indian History, Geography, Political System, Constitution, and Economy. General Science, Environmental Issues, Sustainable Development Goals. 3. Microbiologist Examination Syllabus

Unit 1: General Microbiology: Classification of microorganisms, microbial taxonomy (Bergey's manual, rRNA sequencing), fungal classification, protozoa, viruses. Microscopy principles (light, electron, confocal), staining techniques.

Unit 2: Microbial Control, Culture, Growth and GM Foods: Physical and chemical methods of control. Nutritional classes, culture media (natural, synthetic, selective, differential). Pure culture techniques, growth curve, continuous/synchronous growth, preservation of cultures. Genetically modified foods (Golden rice, Bt brinjal, etc.).

Unit 3: Microbial Contamination, Spoilage and Preservation of Food: Contamination sources (air, water, soil). Spoilage of meat, fish, egg, fruits, vegetables, canned foods, bread, dairy, and spices. Food preservation methods (high/low temperature, irradiation, drying, anaerobic conditions). Microbiology of milk, pasteurization, probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics.

Unit 4: Food Microbial Analysis and Safety: Direct and indirect methods for microbial quality determination (chromatographic, spectrophotometric, ELISA, PCR, Western blotting). Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), OECD guidelines, NABL. Food Safety Objectives (FSO), HACCP, FSSAI, Prevention of Food Adulteration Act 1954, and related legal frameworks.

Unit 5: Fermentations and Environmental Microbiology: Homo and hetero fermentations, fermented foods (sauerkraut, sausages, idli, cheese, beer, wine), microbial enzymes and their application. Major food spoilage microorganisms and their toxins. Physico-chemical parameters of food waste (BOD, COD, TDS, pH).
