- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience, out of which 7 years should be teaching experience from a recognized institute.
- Registration: Must be registered as a Nurse with the Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council.
C. Desirable Qualification:
- Doctor of Philosophy (Nursing) – Ph.D. in Nursing.
Important Notes on the Composite Method
- Mutual Exclusion: Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.
- Maximum Deputation Period: The period of deputation (including any previous deputation in an ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or another organization of the Central Government) shall ordinarily not exceed four years.
Short-listing Criteria

Duties and Responsibilities of the Principal (Nursing College)
The Principal will be responsible for the overall administration, academic management, and development of the nursing college. The key duties, as per Annexure A of the advertisement, include (but are not limited to):
- Development, planning, and implementation of nursing programs (B.Sc., M.Sc. Nursing).
- Developing philosophy and objectives for the educational program.
- Identifying present needs related to the educational program and investigating, evaluating, and securing resources.

- Making administrative decisions based on established policies.
- Facilitating participation in community, professional, and institutional activities.
- Providing freedom for staff to develop active training courses within the curriculum framework.
- Promoting staff participation in research.
- Procuring and maintaining physical facilities of standard quality.
- Interpreting nursing education to other related disciplines and to the public.
- Providing for continuous follow-up and revision of educational programs.
- Preparing periodic reports reviewing progress and problems, and presenting plans for continuous development.
