| TOTAL | 1114 | 837 | 1716 | 760 | 3253 | 7680 | ||
Row/column sums script-verified against the notification's own totals (SC 1114, ST 837, OBC 1716, EWS 760, GEN 3253, Total 7680). PwBD (91 VI + 83 HI + 76 LD + 70 d&e) and Ex-Servicemen (760 XS + 333 DXS) figures are horizontal reservations already included within these totals, not additional.
Backlog Vacancies (separate from the 7,680 above)
The notification also lists backlog vacancies — unfilled reservation-quota posts carried forward from earlier cycles — broken into three separate state-wise groups: 287 for SC/ST/OBC (net of a separate Special Recruitment Drive, Advt. No. CRPD/CR/SPLDRIVE/2026-27/16), 355 for PwBD, and 1,444 for Ex-servicemen/Disabled Ex-servicemen (964 XS + 480 DXS). These three backlog groups are not necessarily additive — a candidate could fall into more than one — so we're presenting them separately rather than as a single combined "backlog total," exactly as the notification itself does. Full state-wise backlog figures are in the notification's vacancy table.

🗓️ Selection Process
Prelims → Main Exam → Local Language Proficiency Test (only if you haven't studied your chosen state's local language at 10th/12th level) → Document Verification. No interview. Only your Main Exam score counts for the final merit list — Prelims marks are used only for shortlisting.
Phase I — Preliminary Exam (100 marks, 1 hour, objective, negative marking 1/4 per wrong answer)
| Test | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| English Language | 30 | 30 | 20 min |
| Numerical Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 min |
| Reasoning Ability | 35 | 35 | 20 min |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 1 hour |
Phase II — Main Exam (200 marks, 2h 40min, objective, negative marking 1/4 per wrong answer)

| Total | 190 | 200 | 2 hr 40 min |
Approximately 10× the number of vacancies (per category) are shortlisted from Prelims to Main Exam. Minimum qualifying aggregate marks in both exams are decided by the Bank (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS). Trained SBI Apprentices get 2.5% bonus marks (5 out of 200) in the Main Exam, subject to conditions. A waitlist of up to 50% of vacancies is maintained for one year.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply for more than one state?
No. Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State/UT, and can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.
Do I need to know the local language to apply?
You need to be proficient in the specified local language of the state you apply for. If you've studied that language at 10th or 12th standard, you're exempt from the language test; otherwise, you'll need to clear a Local Language Proficiency Test after the Main Exam but before joining.
Is there an interview?
No. Selection is entirely test-based — Preliminary Exam (for shortlisting only), Main Exam (used for the actual merit list), and the Local Language Test where applicable.
Can I transfer to another state after joining?
No inter-circle/inter-state transfer is allowed for 5 years of service. After that, transfers are considered only in exceptional cases like Extreme Compassionate Ground or Spouse Ground, at the Bank's discretion.
What is the 7,680 figure — is that the total number of posts?
7,680 is the Regular vacancy total stated explicitly in the notification. There are also separate backlog vacancies (287 SC/ST/OBC + 355 PwBD + 1,444 Ex-servicemen/Disabled Ex-servicemen) carried forward from earlier cycles — these groups can overlap, so we haven't combined them into one number; see the Backlog note above.
Can current SBI employees apply?
No — candidates currently working in SBI's Clerical cadre, or who previously resigned from SBI while in the Clerical cadre, are not eligible for this project.
