What Is This Notice About?

CBSE conducted the Class X Main Board Examination (result declared 15.04.2026) and the Class X Second Board Examination (result declared 18.07.2026) for the 2025-26 session. To facilitate candidates, CBSE is now providing three Post-Result Facilities as per the schedule in Annexure-I:

1. Scanned copy of the evaluated answer book
2. Verification of marks
3. Re-evaluation of one or more answers

Important: Only candidates who have first obtained the scanned copy of the evaluated answer book are eligible to apply for verification of marks and/or re-evaluation. The scanned copy is a mandatory first step, not optional.

Applicable Rules — Which Category Applies to You

1. Students Who Appeared ONLY in the Main Board Examination

2. Students Who Appeared in Both Main and Second Board Examinations

2.1 Subjects taken only in the Main Board Examination: The same rules as Section 1 above apply.

2.2 Subjects taken in BOTH the Main and Second Board Examinations:

⚠️ Important: For a subject taken in both examinations, a student may obtain both answer books (scanned copies), but verification and/or re-evaluation can be requested for only one answer book — either the Main Examination answer book or the Second Examination answer book. Once selected, the other answer book cannot be considered for these facilities.

Schedule & Fee (Annexure-I)

General Guidelines

• The entire process — application and fee payment — is Online only.
• Requests are accepted only online, within the specified schedule, along with fee. No application after the scheduled date/time, and no offline mode, will be accepted.
• Fee can only be paid online (UPI/Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking). Payment via Postal Order, DD, Money Order, Cheque, or Cash will not be accepted.
• Applications not submitted as per CBSE's instructions will be summarily rejected without any correspondence with the candidate.
• Only a single application per step per candidate is accepted — decide in advance whether to apply for one subject or multiple subjects, since no second opportunity is given. Students must submit an online undertaking to this effect.
• CBSE will not be responsible for any consequences arising from revision of marks or delays beyond its control.
• A decrease of marks — even by one mark — will be implemented. Revised marks may increase, decrease, or remain unchanged.
• Where marks change (increase or decrease), the candidate must surrender the Mark Statement cum Certificate in their possession; a new one will then be issued.
• Fee will be refunded in case of an increase in marks after verification/re-evaluation, into the same account from which it was originally paid.
• Only candidates who have obtained the scanned copy of the evaluated answer book are eligible to apply for verification and/or re-evaluation.
• The result of verification and/or re-evaluation is final — no appeal or further review will be accepted.
• CBSE's decision regarding marks awarded is final and binding.
• CBSE appeals to students and parents not to rely on unverified social media posts, rumours, or unofficial sources regarding the result process; authentic information is available only through CBSE's official communication channels. Procedure — Step by Step

A. Obtaining a Scanned Copy of the Evaluated Answer Book

1. The candidate must first apply for the scanned copy — this shows how the answers were evaluated and how marks were awarded.
2. The candidate should submit the application personally and ensure all details entered are correct. CBSE will not be responsible for errors made by any third party (e.g., cyber café).
3. The scanned answer book will be made available in the candidate's login account. Details revealing the identity of the examiner, evaluator, or any other examination official will be hidden.
4. After examining the scanned answer book, the candidate may apply for verification of marks and/or re-evaluation, subject to the rules in this Notice.

B. Verification of Marks and Re-evaluation

1. The candidate may obtain the scanned answer book(s) of the Main Examination, the Second Examination, or both, as applicable.
2. Compare the answers with the question paper and the marking scheme, both available on the CBSE website.
3. For a subject taken in both examinations, verification and/or re-evaluation can be requested for only one answer book.
4. For re-evaluation, the candidate must select the full question(s) and provide reasons for the request.
5. Once the answer book of one examination is selected for verification/re-evaluation in a subject, no request for the answer book of the other examination in the same subject will be accepted.
6. Re-evaluation is carried out for the full question, not for a part of a question.
7. Verification and re-evaluation are available only for the theory portion of the examination.
8. Status and outcome will be uploaded to the candidate's login account. Candidates must check the CBSE website regularly — no separate individual communication will be sent for status updates.
9. Revised marks may increase, decrease, or remain unchanged; a decrease of even one mark will be implemented.
10. The result of verification and/or re-evaluation is final — no appeal or further review will be accepted.

Guidance for Verification (Annexure-II(A)) — What to Check

Before deciding whether to apply for verification, students are advised to check the scanned answer book for the following, and inform CBSE if any discrepancy is found:

1. Whether supplementary answer books used in the exam are also included in the scanned copy provided
2. Whether all your questions have been checked/evaluated
3. Whether the total of all answers noted in the left margins matches the correct total of marks awarded per the marking scheme
4. Whether the marks of each answer given in the left margin have been correctly posted to the table on the cover page
5. Whether the total of each row is correct in the right-hand side table
6. Whether the total of the R.H.S. column is correct
7. Whether the total of the column matches the marks awarded to you as shown in the result/DigiLocker

For each of the above, if you find a discrepancy, you should note the specific detail (e.g., which question wasn't evaluated, or the exact totaling error) to communicate precisely to CBSE. If there is no mistake, you may decide not to apply at all — applying only makes sense where a genuine discrepancy exists.

Note: Whatever information you provide will be checked by experts. If your information is found correct, it will be corrected — otherwise not. CBSE's decision is final and binding.

Guidance for Re-evaluation (Annexure-II(B))

• Question papers and marking schemes for each set are available on the CBSE website — take a printout and keep both with you.
• Evaluate your own answer book against the marking scheme. If you find a mistake — e.g., marks not awarded for an answer matching the marking scheme, or no marks awarded despite a similar answer — clearly mention the specific question number and the discrepancy.
• If you wish to elaborate further, mention it clearly.
• Submit your information in a way that is easily understood and identifiable, so your request can be addressed appropriately.

RTI Act Provision

A scanned copy of the Answer Book(s) will also be provided as per the provisions of the RTI Act, 2005. However, requests for re-evaluation or grievance redressal cannot be made under the RTI Act and will not be entertained through that route.

Q1. Can I directly apply for re-evaluation without getting the scanned copy first?

Q2. What is the fee for each facility?
₹300 per subject for the scanned copy; ₹300 per answer book for verification of marks; ₹100 per question (including all sub-questions) for re-evaluation.

Q3. I took a subject in both Main and Second Examinations — can I get verification done on both answer books?
No. You may obtain scanned copies of both, but verification/re-evaluation can be requested for only one answer book per subject — either Main or Second. Once chosen, the other cannot be considered.

Q4. Can my marks decrease after verification or re-evaluation?

No. Status and outcome are uploaded to your candidate login account only — no separate individual communication is sent. You must check regularly.

Q7. Can I request re-evaluation for just part of a question?
No. Re-evaluation is carried out for the full question only, not for a part of a question.

Q8. Is re-evaluation available for practical/internal assessment marks?
No. Verification and re-evaluation are available only for the theory portion of the examination.

Q9. What if I submit my application incorrectly or don't follow the instructions?
Your application will be summarily rejected, with no correspondence from CBSE — so read the notice carefully before applying.

Q10. Will I get my fee back if my marks increase?
