Government recruitment में eligibility rejection का एक common reason age condition को गलत समझना है. Candidate अक्सर अपना current age देखकर decide कर लेता है कि वह eligible है या नहीं. लेकिन recruitment authority आमतौर पर एक specific date तय करती है, जैसे:

लेकिन केवल “18–27” देखकर manual assumption करना कभी-कभी risky हो सकता है. अगर notification खुद eligible DOB range देता है, जैसे “born not before…” और “not later than…”, तो उसी official DOB window को follow करना safest approach है.

Cut-off date वह official reference date है जिस पर recruiting authority candidate की age check करती है. यह जरूरी नहीं कि वही application की last date हो.

Example 2 — Birthday Cut-Off के बाद है

मान लीजिए candidate 27 years complete करने वाला है, लेकिन उसका birthday notification की cut-off date के बाद आता है. ऐसी स्थिति में current calendar age देखकर reject/accept decide न करें. Cut-off date पर exact age निकालें.

Example 3 — Notification ने DOB Range दी है

Current SSC CHSL 2026 जैसे notices में authority age band के साथ exact acceptable DOB range भी देती है. ऐसी स्थिति में सबसे practical तरीका:

1. अपना Matriculation Certificate वाला DOB देखें.
2. Official “born not before / born not later than” range से compare करें.
3. अगर category relaxation claim कर रहे हैं, applicable relaxed rule अलग से देखें.

Central recruitment notices में commonly Matriculation / Secondary Examination record में दर्ज Date of Birth को age determination के लिए use किया जाता है.

इसलिए form भरते समय:

• 10th certificate की DOB exactly use करें.
• Aadhaar या किसी दूसरे document में अलग DOB हो तो mismatch ignore न करें.
• Day/month/year typing error से बचें.
• Form submit करने से पहले preview जरूर check करें.

Age relaxation का मतलब सामान्यतः prescribed upper age limit में eligible category के लिए additional years की concession है.

कई Central Government direct recruitments में following pattern commonly दिखाई देता है. इसे general understanding के लिए देखें — final rule हमेशा concerned notification का होगा.

Central Government direct recruitment में SC/ST candidates के लिए 5 years upper-age relaxation commonly provided की जाती है.

Example:

Normal upper age: 27 years
SC/ST relaxation: 5 years
Possible upper age after relaxation: 32 years

लेकिन candidate को valid SC/ST status और prescribed certificate conditions fulfil करनी होंगी.

Central direct recruitment में OBC candidates के लिए 3 years upper-age relaxation commonly seen है.

Normal upper age: 27 years
OBC relaxation: 3 years
Possible relaxed upper age: 30 years

यह एक बहुत common confusion है.

EWS reservation और age relaxation को automatically same benefit न समझें. कई recruitments में EWS reservation available होता है लेकिन separate upper-age relaxation नहीं दिया जाता.

उदाहरण के तौर पर SSC CHSL 2026 की age-relaxation table में SC/ST, OBC, PwBD, ESM और specified other categories listed हैं, लेकिन ordinary EWS candidate के लिए separate age relaxation नहीं दिया गया.

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities के लिए कई Central Government recruitments में substantial upper-age relaxation available होती है.

SSC-type recruitments में अक्सर pattern इस तरह दिखाई देता है:

• PwBD — 10 years
• PwBD (OBC) — 13 years
• PwBD (SC/ST) — 15 years

लेकिन सिर्फ percentage of disability देखना पर्याप्त नहीं है. Post identified/suitable होना, disability sub-category और valid certificate भी relevant हो सकते हैं.

Ex-Servicemen age rule सामान्य “+3 years” जैसी simple calculation हमेशा नहीं होती. कई Central Government Group C recruitments में military service को actual age से deduct करने के बाद prescribed additional concession check की जाती है.

• Actual age on cut-off date = 34 years
• Qualifying military service = 8 years

Service deduct करने के बाद:

नहीं. सिर्फ female candidate होने से हर Central Government recruitment में automatic upper-age relaxation नहीं मिलता.

लेकिन कुछ recruitments specific categories के लिए concession देती हैं, जैसे:

• Widows
• Divorced Women
• Women judicially separated from husband and not remarried

उदाहरण के तौर पर current SSC CHSL 2026 में eligible widow/divorced/judicially separated women के लिए specified higher age limits दी गई हैं.

इसलिए “Women = age relaxation” जैसी blanket assumption गलत है.

कुछ recruitments existing Central Government employees या departmental candidates को special upper-age concession देती हैं, लेकिन:

• minimum continuous service requirement हो सकती है
• specific department/service condition हो सकती है
• upper-age cap separately prescribed हो सकती है
• all government employees automatically eligible नहीं होते

इस benefit को apply करने से पहले exact wording पढ़ना जरूरी है.

कुछ notifications combined category के लिए खुद specific relaxation देती हैं, जैसे PwBD (OBC) या PwBD (SC/ST).

29 February को born candidates के लिए manual age calculation confusing हो सकती है. ऐसी स्थिति में random online assumptions पर depend करने के बजाय:
