📢 NCTE Consultant Recruitment 2026 — Overview

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released a vacancy circular for the engagement of Consultants on a short-term contract basis. The Council is looking for qualified and experienced professionals for the following positions:

The engagement is for a period of 6 months, extendable based on need and performance. The selection will be made through a walk-in interview at NCTE, Dwarka, New Delhi.

🎯 Eligibility Criteria

1. Data Analyst

Educational Qualification:

• ✅ Bachelor's / Master's degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Computer Science / Data Science / Economics / Operational Research or related discipline from an accredited institution with at least 55% marks

Experience:

• ✅ Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis, data management, and reporting
• ✅ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Python/R, and data visualization tools such as Power BI
• ✅ Experience in data cleaning, validation, statistical analysis, and preparation of analytical reports and dashboards

2. Technical Consultant

Educational Qualification:

• ✅ B.Tech./Master's Degree in any branch of Engineering / MCA / M.Tech. / M.Sc. (Computer Science) / M.Sc. (Information Technology) / M.S. (Software Systems) from a recognized University/Institute, with a minimum of 55% marks

Experience:

• ✅ Minimum 2 years of professional experience in managing and implementing IT/ICT projects, preferably in the education or government sector
• ✅ Experience in designing, developing, testing and maintaining web-based applications using technologies such as Angular, JavaScript, Java, MySQL and API integration
• ✅ Experience in database management, system integration, server administration, troubleshooting and ensuring application security and performance

3. Academic Consultant (Jr.)

Educational Qualification:

• ✅ Master's Degree from a recognized university/institute with minimum 55% marks
• ✅ NET/SLET/CTET
• ✅ Working experience not less than 1 year

Desirable:

• ✅ B.Ed./M.Ed./MA Education
• ✅ Good communication skills in English & Hindi

4. Social Media Consultant

Educational Qualification:

• ✅ Master's degree in Media Studies / Mass Communication / Journalism and allied disciplines from a renowned University
• ✅ 1 year of experience in handling social media, developing media strategies and digital content creation

Desirable:

• ✅ Experience in similar roles, preferably for Educational Institutions
• ✅ Awareness of National Education Policy 2020 and its initiatives related to Teacher Education
• ✅ Knowledge of website development process

💰 Remuneration & Entitlements

Note: No dearness or any other allowances are admissible. TA/DA and hotel accommodation will be provided for out-station tours as per Central Government norms.

📋 How to Apply

1. Download the prescribed application format from the official NCTE website or the notification.
2. Fill in all the details carefully and affix a recent passport-size photograph.
3. Attach self-attested photocopies of all relevant certificates and documents.
4. Bring the application form along with all original documents for verification.
5. Report for registration and document verification between 09:00 AM to 10:30 AM on the day of the walk-in interview.
6. Submit the application in a sealed cover with the super-script: "Engagement of Academic Consultants (Jr.), Data Analysts, Technical Consultant & Social Media Consultant on short-term contract basis in NCTE"

⚠️ Important: No candidates shall be allowed for registration and document verification after 10:30 AM on the day of the walk-in interview.

📌 Important Instructions

• ✅ The engagement is purely on a short-term contract basis for 6 months, extendable based on need and performance.
• ✅ No application fee is required for any of the posts.
• ✅ Consultants will be engaged on a full-time basis and will not be permitted to take up any other assignments during the engagement period.
• ✅ The NCTE reserves the right to change the number of posts or not to fill any of the posts, if circumstances so warrant.
• ✅ Incomplete applications or applications received after the prescribed date and time shall not be considered.
• ✅ In case of retired government personnel, remuneration will be fixed monthly amount arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement.
• ✅ Consultants will be entitled to one day leave for each completed month of consultancy.
• ✅ The contract can be terminated by either party by giving one-month notice.

Technical Consultant

• 💻 Manage and implement IT/ICT projects in the education or government sector
• 💻 Design, develop, test and maintain web-based applications using Angular, JavaScript, Java, MySQL and API integration
• 💻 Develop and maintain MIS platforms, Power BI dashboards, and project monitoring systems

Academic Consultant (Jr.)

• 📚 Work related to Teacher Education Program, Development/Review of curriculum framework and Model Syllabi
• 📚 Organize Seminars, Conferences & Workshops, Publications of NCTE Journals
• 📚 Preparation of strategic documents for implementation of NEP 2020 in the context of teacher education

Social Media Consultant

• 📱 Creation of high-quality communication content for external communication especially on social media
• 📱 Manage NCTE's webpage and its updation
• 📱 Provide roadmaps for social media, technology-enabled solutions and digital media infrastructure as per NPST and NMM strategies
