The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Audit Officer in the Karnataka State Audit and Accounts Department. 🎯 Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Educational Qualification

Essential: Candidates must possess one of the following:

• ✅ Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com)
• ✅ MBA (Finance) or MBA (Financial Management)
• ✅ MBA/M.Com (Financial Analysis)
• ✅ Any other Master's degree notified by UGC with Finance as one of the subjects
• ✅ Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (CA)
• ✅ Associate Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICWA)

Note: Candidates who have appeared for the final examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for the Preliminary Examination.

3. Age Limit (as on 26 September 2026)

Note: Minimum age is 21 years for all categories. Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen is 3 years plus the number of years of service rendered.

4. Hyderabad-Karnataka (HK) Region Reservation

As per Article 371(J) of the Constitution, candidates belonging to the Hyderabad-Karnataka region (districts: Bidar, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari, and Yadgir) are eligible for reservation under the Hyderabad-Karnataka quota. Candidates must produce a certificate from the competent authority (Assistant Commissioner of the concerned sub-division).

The selection process consists of two stages:

Section 'A' — Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is objective type with multiple-choice questions. It consists of 2 papers:

Question papers are bilingual (Kannada and English). The level of questions is Graduate level. Each paper is of 2 hours duration.

Shortlisting for Main Exam: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination in the ratio of 1:20 based on their performance in the Preliminary Examination.
