The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the notification for the Junior Secretariat Assistant / Lower Division Clerk Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025 (JSA/LDC LDCE 2025). This examination is for regular Group 'C' employees (Multi‑Tasking Staff or equivalent) of the participating services/cadres to be promoted to the JSA/LDC Grade (Pay Level‑2, Group ‘C’ Non‑Gazetted). Online applications are invited from 05 June 2026 to 26 June 2026 (2300 hours). The Computer Based Examination is tentatively scheduled in July–August 2026 and will be conducted only in Delhi NCR. 🎓 Eligibility Criteria (Summary)

  • Employment: Regular Group 'C' employee of one of the participating services/cadres.
  • Minimum Service: Generally 3 years of regular service in Level-1 (₹18,000–56,900) or Grade Pay 1800 as on the crucial date (varies by cadre – 01.07.2025, 01.08.2025, or 01.01.2025).
  • Educational Qualification: 12th class pass (or equivalent) from a recognized board/university.
  • Typing Test (Railway Board only): Must have passed SSC's typing test (English 30/35 wpm, Hindi 25/30 wpm) unless exempted.
  • Age Limit: Not more than 45 years (50 years for SC/ST) as on crucial date. Relaxation for disabled defence personnel (3/8 years).
  • Lien: Candidates on deputation with approval of competent authority and retaining lien in parent cadre are eligible. Those on transfer without lien are not eligible.

📝 Exam Pattern & Selection Process (Total 260 Marks)

Part‑I: Written Examination (200 Marks)

  • Paper‑I (Descriptive – Short Essay): 100 marks, 1 hour 30 minutes. Essay of 400‑500 words.
  • Paper‑II (Computer Based Examination – Objective): 100 marks, 2 hours. Two sections: Language (General English or Samanya Hindi) 50 marks + General Knowledge 50 marks. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.

Part‑II: Evaluation of Record of Service (APARs) – 60 marks.

  1. Shortlisting for Paper‑I based on Paper‑II (CBE) performance.
  2. Shortlisting for Part‑II based on aggregate of Paper‑I + Paper‑II.

  2. Fill Online Application: Log in, click “Apply” for “Junior Secretariat Assistant/Lower Division Clerk Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025” under Live Exam tab. Fill all service details.
  3. Capture Live Photograph: Use webcam/phone to capture clear photo (no cap, no spectacles, plain background).
  4. Upload Signature: JPEG format, 10‑20 KB, dimension ~6.0cm x 2.0cm.
  5. Upload Required Documents: Certified copy of Service Book (first page), certified service particulars, educational certificate (if applicable), disability/defence certificates (if applicable).
