📖 Exam Pattern – Phase‑I (Objective Type)

The Phase‑I online examination consists of 200 multiple‑choice questions for 200 marks. The total duration is 120 minutes. Candidates must secure minimum marks separately in each test as well as aggregate, as prescribed by the RBI Services Board. There is negative marking of 1/4 mark per wrong answer.

📚 Syllabus Overview (Phase‑I)

  • General Awareness: Current events, economic and banking awareness, financial markets, RBI functions, government policies, international affairs, and general knowledge of India.
  • English Language: Reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, para jumbles, cloze test, fill in the blanks, and verbal ability.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Number system, simplification, data interpretation, ratio & proportion, percentage, profit & loss, average, interest, time & work, time & distance, mensuration, probability, and miscellaneous arithmetic topics.
  • Reasoning: Logical reasoning, puzzles, seating arrangement, syllogism, blood relations, coding‑decoding, inequality, direction sense, data sufficiency, and critical reasoning.

Login Credentials: Enter your Registration Number / Roll Number and Password / Date of Birth (DD-MM-YY format) as received at the time of registration. The same credentials were also sent via auto‑generated email. If you face any issue, retry after a few minutes or use the “Can't read the image?” link to refresh the captcha.

Important: The admit card is purely provisional and does not confirm final eligibility. RBI will verify eligibility only at the time of the interview after Phase‑II. Download and print multiple copies of the admit card and keep them safe for future stages.

♿ Instructions for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD)

Candidates with benchmark disabilities (40% or more) who have physical limitation to write are eligible for scribe facility and/or compensatory time. The following guidelines apply:

  • Scribe Facility: Available for candidates with blindness, locomotor disability (both arm affected‑BA), cerebral palsy, and other benchmark disabilities with physical limitation to write.
  • Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour of examination (i.e., an additional 40 minutes for the 120‑minute test) for eligible candidates. Visually impaired candidates automatically receive compensatory time regardless of scribe usage.
  • Scribe Arrangement: Candidates must arrange their own scribe at their own cost. The scribe’s qualification should be one step below the candidate’s qualification. For specialist posts, the scribe must be from a different academic stream.
  • Documents to Carry (PwBD candidates):
    • Valid Disability Certificate (permanent) issued by competent authority prior to closing date of application.
    • Medical Certificate regarding physical limitation to write (Appendix‑VIII) from a Government health care institution.
    • Details of own scribe as per proforma (Appendix‑IX).
    • Photocopy of scribe’s Photo ID proof (original also to be carried).
    • The candidate is responsible for any misconduct by the scribe.
  • Assistive Devices: PwBD candidates may use assistive devices such as Tailor frame, Braille Slate, Abacus, Geometry Kit, Braille measuring tape, augmentative communication devices, and electronic devices (subject to approval).
  • On‑screen Magnifier: All Visually Impaired candidates will be allowed to use an on‑screen magnifier during the exam.

♿ Instructions for Persons with Specified Disability (<40%) Having Difficulty in Writing

Candidates with specified disability covered under Section 2(s) of the RPwD Act, 2016 (less than 40% disability) but having difficulty in writing can also avail scribe facility and compensatory time, as per OM F.No.29‑6/2019‑DD‑III dated 10.08.2022. The following conditions apply:

  • Certificate Requirement: Medical certificate from a multi‑member authority (CMO/Civil Surgeon/Chief District Medical Officer as Chairperson, Orthopaedic/PMR specialist, Neurologist (if available), Clinical Psychologist/Rehabilitation Psychologist/Psychiatrist/Special Educator, Occupational therapist (if available)) as per Appendix‑X, confirming physical limitation to write and necessity of a scribe.
  • Scribe Arrangement: Candidate must arrange own scribe. The scribe’s qualification should be one step below the candidate’s qualification.
  • Compensatory Time: 20 minutes per hour of examination for eligible candidates.
  • Documents to Carry (Specified Disability candidates):
    • Medical Certificate as per Appendix‑X (dated prior to exam).
    • Details of own scribe as per proforma (Appendix‑XI).
    • Photocopy of scribe’s Photo ID proof (original also to be carried).
  • Note: The candidate will be fully responsible for any misconduct by the scribe. The Bank will verify the necessity of scribe at the time of selection process/joining.

📋 Documents to Carry on Exam Day

All candidates (including PwBD) MUST bring the following documents in original:

  • Admit Card (hard copy) with a recent passport‑size photograph pasted on it (preferably the same as uploaded).
  • Original Valid Photo ID Proof (any one of the following): PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving License, Voter’s Card with photograph, Bank Passbook with photograph, Photo ID issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead, Photo ID issued by a People’s Representative on official letterhead, Valid recent ID card from a recognised College/University, Aadhaar Card, Employee ID, Bar Council Identity Card with photograph.
  • Photocopy of the same Photo ID document (to be stapled to the admit card and handed over to the invigilator).
  • For PwBD/Specified Disability candidates: Disability certificate, medical certificate regarding physical limitation to write, scribe details, and scribe’s Photo ID proof (original and photocopy).
🚨 Critical Warning: Ration Card and Learner’s Driving License are NOT accepted as valid ID proof. Candidates reporting without valid documents will not be allowed to take the exam.

👕 Dress Code & Prohibited Items

  • Dress Code: Light clothes without any metal items (zippers, big buttons, brooches, badges). Half sleeves recommended. Slippers/sandals only – no shoes/socks. Candidates coming in customary/religious dresses or PwBD candidates should report well in advance for proper frisking.
  • Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, books, notes, pagers, any electronic communication device, metal items, large buttons, badges, brooches, etc. Any candidate found in possession of such items will be disqualified and debarred.
  • Permitted Items: A ballpoint pen (Blue/Black) for any rough work (though rough sheets will be provided). The rough sheet must be returned to the invigilator after the exam.

🖐️ Biometric Data Capture & Important Instructions

  • Biometric Capturing: Thumb impression and photograph will be captured at the venue before the exam. Ensure fingers are clean, dry, and not coated (no ink/mehndi). In case of injury to the thumb, immediately notify the centre authority.
  • Candidate Registration: Photo captured live will be matched with the photo uploaded at the time of application. Candidates must not change their appearance.
  • Multiple Admit Cards: If a candidate has generated more than one admit card, they must appear only once and surrender all other admit cards to the invigilator. Multiple appearances will result in cancellation.
  • Post‑Examination Analysis: Responses of candidates may be analysed to detect patterns of similarity. If scores are found to be non‑genuine, candidature may be cancelled.
  • Rough Sheet Management: A rough sheet will be provided at each desk. Candidates must return it to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
  • Legal Compliance: Candidates should note that “The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024” and the associated rules are applicable. Any violation will lead to strict action.
