How to Check the ASO Crime Scene Selection List
- Visit the official JKSSB website and locate the provisional selection notice dated 28 October 2026 for Assistant Scientific Officer (Crime Scene).
- Confirm Advertisement No. 06 of 2025 and Item No. 21. Do not confuse this post with another Assistant Scientific Officer discipline.
- Open Annexure-A on pages 4–6 of the notification.
- Search using your roll number or application ID, then match your name and other identifying details.
- Read the heading immediately above your entry: it identifies whether you appear in a selection list or a wait list.
- Check the selection category, total marks and the final remarks/deficiency column.
- Save the complete notification and the page containing your entry for reference.
If PDF search does not work: The document contains scanned pages. A failed text search is not proof that your entry is absent. Zoom in and inspect the relevant category sections manually, including continuation rows on the next page.
What Should You Do After Checking Your Entry?
| Your situation | Next action |
|---|---|
| Listed in a selection section without a deficiency remark | Check that your details are correct, retain the notice and monitor subsequent JKSSB/department communications. Do not treat this as a joining instruction. |
| Listed in a wait-list section | Record the category and position shown. Monitor official updates; movement from the wait list is not guaranteed by this notice. |
| Recommendation withheld | Read the exact deficiency and prepare the required evidence. Use the representation route for clarification and follow the Board’s instructions regarding original documents. |
| Entry or details appear incorrect | Prepare a specific, evidence-backed representation identifying the disputed entry and requested correction. |
| Name or roll number not found | Check all relevant sections and identifiers first. If you have a substantive grievance, explain it with supporting records rather than assuming an omission. |
How to Submit a Representation
The notification permits an aggrieved candidate, or a candidate wishing to provide documents/clarification concerning withheld candidature, to represent through:
Email: selection.aso@outlook.com
Time allowed: Within 10 days from the notification dated 28 October 2026. The notice states that representations beyond the permitted period will not be entertained. It does not print a separate closing time; submit promptly instead of waiting until the final day.
Details the Notice Requires
- Candidate’s name.
- Address.
- Roll number.
- An active contact number.
Supporting Details That Make Your Request Easier to Examine
The following are practical suggestions, not an additional official form:
- Application ID and the relevant category/list section.
- Page number and serial number of the disputed entry, where applicable.
- A short explanation of the error, grievance or withheld-candidature issue.
- The precise correction or clarification you request.
- Readable documents directly supporting that request.
Ready-to-Use Representation Email Draft
Replace every bracketed field, remove points that do not apply and attach only relevant evidence. This is a suggested draft, not a prescribed JKSSB format.
Before sending, recheck the recipient address, open each attachment and ensure that your roll number is correct. Retain the sent email and attachments. A sent email is evidence of sending, not confirmation that the representation has been accepted.
Does Provisional Selection Guarantee Appointment?
No. The notification specifically states that the list can change after examination of objections on merit. It is also subject to the outcome of relevant pending court proceedings and inquiries, where applicable.
The notice does not announce a joining date or a new reporting schedule. Candidates should follow the subsequent finalisation and appointment communications rather than act on unofficial joining claims.
Qualification and Original Eligibility Cutoff
The recruitment prescribed a Master’s Degree in Forensic Science from a university recognised by the UGC. The original cutoff stated in the notification for eligibility, academic qualification and the validity of applicable certificates was 17 September 2025.
This background matters when preparing a representation: explain how your records satisfy the requirements applicable to that recruitment. Do not assume the October 2026 result date creates a new qualification cutoff.
Are the Listed Marks an Official Final Cutoff?
Annexure-A publishes individual marks alongside selection and wait-list entries. This notice does not provide a separate final category-wise cutoff declaration.
For example, the last Open Merit selection entry carries 58.75 marks, while the first OM wait-list entry carries 55.00 marks. These are observations from this provisional list, not a guaranteed final cutoff or a benchmark for another ASO recruitment.
Documents to Keep Ready
This is a preparation checklist, not a fresh document-verification call:
- Original application and relevant examination/roll-number record.
- The provisional notification and the page containing your entry.
- Degree/provisional degree and supporting marksheets.
- Applicable category and other eligibility certificates.
- Previously submitted verification records or acknowledgements, if relevant.
- Evidence supporting any representation or deficiency clarification.
- A copy of your sent representation and attachments.
Use our government job documents checklist to organise your records. You can also record pending follow-ups in the Application Tracker; it does not send representations to JKSSB.
