About UPSSSC PET 2026

Following the Uttar Pradesh Government's order dated 20 November 2020 (as amended on 28 April 2025), UPSSSC follows a two-tier examination system for all Group 'C' posts within its purview. PET is the mandatory first tier — every candidate who wishes to apply for any Group 'C' recruitment under UPSSSC must have a valid PET score.

Important: Merely applying for, appearing in, or scoring in PET-2026 does not by itself entitle a candidate to be considered for any specific post. Candidates must still apply separately to each main recruitment advertisement once released, using their valid PET score.

Which Posts Fall Under UPSSSC's Purview?

As per Section 2 of the UPSSSC Act, 2014, this covers all Group 'C' direct-recruitment posts — including Secretariat posts and posts under boards/corporations/statutory bodies established or controlled by the State Government — specifically, posts in Pay Band-1 (₹5200-20200) Grade Pay ₹1900 and above, up to Pay Band-2 (₹9300-34800) Grade Pay below ₹4600. The State Government may add or remove posts from the Commission's jurisdiction by notification.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

High School (10th) or an equivalent qualification. Candidates who hold this qualification on or before the final date for submitting the application are eligible.

Age Limit

Candidates must have completed a minimum of 18 years and must not have exceeded 40 years of age as on 01 July 2026.

Good to Know: Simply holding the qualifications mentioned in the PET-2026 advertisement does not automatically entitle a candidate to apply for or be considered in future main-exam advertisements. Once PET-2026 results are declared, age limits for each specific main-exam advertisement will be calculated based on the requisitions received from departments and the relevant service rules in force at that time — not solely on the PET notification.

Application Fee

CategoryApplication Fee (₹)Online Processing Fee (₹)Total Fee (₹)
Unreserved (General)16025185
Other Backward Class (OBC)16025185
Scheduled Caste (SC)702595
Scheduled Tribe (ST)702595
PwBD (Divyangjan)02525

Dependents of freedom fighters, ex-servicemen/serving armed forces personnel, outstanding sportspersons, and women candidates pay the fee applicable to their own base category (from the rows above) — there is no separate concessional slab for these groups.

Fee can be paid via Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking / UPI or SBI e-Challan. No other payment mode is permitted.

How to Apply — Step by Step

  • Complete OTR first: If you don't already have a One Time Registration, complete it on upsssc.gov.in before attempting to apply — this has been mandatory since 14 July 2026.
  • Log in for PET-2026: Log in using your OTR number, or your OTR-registered mobile number, then click "Get OTP" and enter the OTP plus the Verification Code. Your OTR details will auto-populate the application.
  • Fill remaining details: Enter Intermediate qualification (if applicable), marital status, EWS status, UP State Government employee status, freedom fighter dependent/ex-servicemen/outstanding sportsperson/disability category, and any age relaxation details.
  • Read and accept the Declaration: Select "Yes" if you agree, enter the Verification Code, and click Submit.
  • Save your Registration Slip: On successful submission, a Registration Slip with an 11-digit registration number is generated — keep this safe for future reference.
  • Pay the fee: On the Registration Slip page, click "Proceed for Payment" and pay the prescribed fee. Do not click any button repeatedly or refresh/close the browser while payment is processing.
  • Download/print your application: Once payment is confirmed, the application form becomes available for download/print. Your application process is complete only after you download and print it.

⚠️ Payment Successful But Form Not Showing? Here's What To Do

If your fee payment succeeded but the application form isn't displaying, it usually means the payment hasn't been reconciled yet. Go to "Applicant Segment" on the UPSSSC homepage → "Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification Mode" → log in with your PET-2026 registration number → click "Verify Transaction ID". If payment shows as Failed, a Payment Acknowledgment Receipt (PAR) will display instead of the form — follow the same Double Verification path, then use "Application Fee Deposition" under Applicant Segment to pay again. For e-Challan payments, download the SBI e-Challan, pay at any SBI branch, then update your transaction ID the same way. Complete this reconciliation and download/print your form before the last date — the Commission is not responsible for delays on this front.

Application Correction Window

Corrections to submitted applications are permitted only through "Modify Submitted Application" on the UPSSSC homepage, and only for the following fields: email ID, Intermediate qualification, marital status, EWS status, UP State Government employee status, freedom fighter dependent, ex-servicemen, outstanding sportsperson, disability category, and age relaxation details.

The correction window is open from 10 August 2026 to 08 September 2026. After this date, no correction is possible at any level, and no correspondence with the Commission on this will be entertained.

Important Instructions for Candidates

  • Reserved-category candidates must correctly mark their category in the application — the Commission's decision on eligibility/ineligibility is final.
  • Only the date of birth recorded on your High School (or equivalent) certificate is valid — no other document will be accepted as DOB proof.
  • Self-attested copies of marksheets, certificates, and degrees may be demanded to confirm age and educational qualification.
  • Exam date, time, district, and centre will be communicated via admit card. You must appear at your allotted centre only — no change of centre, date, or time is permitted under any circumstances, and no representation on this will be accepted.
  • Providing false information, or information not verifiable against your certificates, can lead to debarment from PET and all future exams/selections.
  • Admission to the exam is provisional based on your declared information — if you're later found ineligible at any stage, your candidature will be cancelled.
  • Malpractice — indiscipline, misbehaviour, cheating, or any unfair means in the exam hall — leads to cancellation of candidature and can result in debarment from this exam and future exams/selections, under the UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
  • Male candidates who are married with more than one living spouse, or women who married such a man, are not eligible — unless specifically exempted by the Governor.
  • The Commission does not correspond with individual candidates. All information is published on the official website only — check it regularly.
  • The Commission does not advise candidates on their eligibility — read the notification carefully and apply only if you're satisfied you meet every condition.
  • Candidates selected under horizontal reservation are adjusted against their own vertical (base) category.
  • Helpline for technical difficulty: 0522-2720814, or visit the Commission office on any working day.

⚠️ Malpractice and Impersonation Carry Severe Penalties

Any attempt at impersonation or unfair means during the exam falls under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 — which prescribes life imprisonment and a fine of up to ₹1 crore. Offenders can also be barred from this exam and all future Commission exams.

Good to Know: If you submit more than one application, only your last (final) submitted application will be accepted — all earlier ones are automatically treated as rejected. Make sure the last one you submit is the correct, complete one.
