Overview

Basic Pay: ₹24,050-1340/3-28,070-1650/3-33,020-2000/4-41,020-2340/7-57,400-4400/1-61,800-2680/1-64,480, plus allowances and perquisites as applicable in the allotted bank.

Vacancy Details: 11,403 Posts (Indicative)

Recruitment is done on a State/UT-wise basis — a candidate can apply for vacancies in only one State or Union Territory, and will generally be examined at a centre within that State/UT (though IBPS may allot an out-of-state exam centre purely for logistical reasons; the vacancy consideration stays tied to the State/UT chosen). The table below gives the total indicative vacancies by State/UT as per Annexure-I of the notification. Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1 January 1962 intending to settle permanently, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or certain East African/Vietnam-origin categories intending to settle permanently in India — with categories other than Indian citizens requiring a Government of India eligibility certificate.

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026)

Minimum 20 years, Maximum 28 years — candidates must be born between 02.08.1998 and 01.08.2006 (both dates inclusive).

Cumulative relaxation for SC/ST/OBC is allowed with only one other applicable category. Candidates must produce the relevant category/relaxation certificates in the prescribed Government of India format.

Educational Qualification (as on 21.08.2026)

A degree (graduation) in any discipline from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. Candidates must hold a valid mark-sheet/degree certificate confirming graduate status on the day of registration and must indicate their graduation percentage (CGPA/OGPA converted per university norms) online. Ex-servicemen without civil qualifications may qualify via the Army Special Certificate of Education (or Navy/Air Force equivalent) after 15+ years of service.

Computer Literacy & Local Language

Operating/working knowledge of computers is mandatory — via a certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations, or having studied Computer/IT as a subject in school or college. Candidates must also be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, understanding) in the specified local language of the State/UT they are applying against; this is tested through the qualifying Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) — see below.

Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities

Reservation applies under Section 34 of the RPwD Act, 2016, across locomotor disability, visual impairment, hearing impairment, and intellectual disability/other categories, each with defined functional and medical benchmarks. Scribe facility, compensatory time (20 minutes per hour of exam), and magnified-font options are available per the detailed conditions in the notification, and PwBD/PwSD certificates are subject to verification and possible fresh medical assessment.

Application Fee

Payment is online only (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, IMPS, Wallets, UPI), between 01.08.2026 and 21.08.2026. Bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate. The correction fee for using the Edit Window (if needed) is a flat ₹200/- for all categories, non-refundable.

Selection Process

Selection is a two-tier process — Online Preliminary Examination (qualifying) followed by Online Main Examination (merit-determining) — with no interview stage.

Preliminary Examination

Main Examination

Each test in both exams is separately timed. There is a penalty of 0.25 marks per wrong answer in both exams (no penalty for unattempted questions). Candidates must clear sectional and overall cut-offs (decided by IBPS) at each stage. Only Main Examination marks count toward the final merit list — Preliminary marks are purely qualifying.

Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)

Conducted after the Main exam/provisional allotment but before joining, this is a qualifying test in the local language opted for at the time of application. Candidates who submit a Class 10 (or higher) mark-sheet showing they studied that language are exempted. Failing the LLPT disqualifies a candidate from appointment regardless of exam merit.

Provisional Allotment & Reserve List

Shortlisted candidates are provisionally allotted to one participating bank based on merit-cum-preference, State/UT-wise vacancies actually reported (the numbers above are indicative, not final), and reservation norms. The allotment is final and binding — no change requests are entertained, and declining an offer forfeits the candidate's chance in this cycle. A reserve list of roughly 30% of category-wise vacancies may be maintained and used for further allotment rounds within one year of the original allotment date, subject to banks reporting additional vacancies.
