Where This Recruitment Stands Right Now
CSBC had advertised 4,361 Chalak Sipahi (Driver Constable) posts in Bihar Police under Advt. No. 02/2025, dated 17 July 2025. Based on the written exam, 15,516 candidates were shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), held from 12 to 24 March 2026. Going by PET performance, a list of 11,847 eligible candidates was published on 28 April 2026, on CSBC's website and in leading state newspapers. This notice is the next step for that same shortlisted group — the Motor Vehicle Driving Efficiency Test (DET) and Document Verification (DV) schedule.
DET Schedule & Admit Card
The Driving Efficiency Test for shortlisted candidates will begin on 24 August 2026. Your DET date, venue, and admit card will be available on csbc.bihar.gov.in, under the "Bihar Police" tab, starting 10 August 2026, 00:00 hrs. Admit cards will not be sent by post to anyone — download is the only route.
If you're unable to download your e-admit card for any reason, duplicate admit cards are available in person on 21 and 22 August 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the CSBC office — Back Harding Road (near Sachivalaya Halt), Patna–800001 — at the candidate's own cost.
What the DET Covers
The Driving Efficiency Test includes separate tests for Car, Jeep, and Bus/Truck driving. There's no fixed order across these tests. For the exact evaluation standards, refer to the norms published in the original Advt. 02/2025.
⚠️ No Second Chance — Read Before Your DET Date
Attendance on your allotted DET date is compulsory. Miss it, and you're treated as ineligible — CSBC will not offer another date. Document Verification also happens on this same day, with the same rule: no second opportunity. And critically, no request for time extension will be entertained for any reason — the notice explicitly lists family emergencies, personal issues, medical conditions, bone fractures, and pregnancy as reasons that will not be accepted. Plan around your allotted date with zero margin for rescheduling.
Document Verification: What to Carry
Document Verification happens on the same day as your DET — bring your admit card plus originals (with one self-attested photocopy set) of the following:
- Valid photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID, or similar)
- LMV/HMV driving licence issued at least one year before the advertisement date — i.e., on or before 17 July 2024 (original)
- Date of birth proof: Matric/equivalent certificate and marksheet (original)
- Intermediate or equivalent pass certificate
- Intermediate or equivalent marksheet

Important Notes on Reservation Documents
- Reservation benefit applies only to original residents of Bihar.
- For SC/ST/BC/EBC women candidates (married or unmarried) claiming reservation, the caste certificate must be in your father's name and address — not your husband's.
- For EWS married women living with their husband, the income/asset certificate can come from the husband's residence area, but you must separately submit a residence certificate based on your father's permanent residence, to establish Bihar domicile. The same applies to Non-Creamy Layer certificates.
- Income & asset certificates are valid for one year from their issue date, per GAD letter No. 11/Adhi-12/2026-GAD-5718 dated 25-03-2026.
Other Key Conditions
- Your DET/DV date, time, and venue will be printed on your admit card — there's no separate communication.
- No entry to the DET venue is permitted without your admit card, under any circumstances.
- Selection for DET remains entirely provisional — if misconduct or unsatisfactory records surface at any stage, your candidature will be cancelled.
- All conditions from the original Advt. 02/2025 continue to apply in full; found ineligible at any stage, for any reason, and you'll be disqualified.
- CSBC has specifically warned candidates to stay alert to touts and agents, and to report suspicious individuals to the police.
