Selection Methodology — 3 Stages
- Stage 1 — Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 objective MCQ questions, 1 mark each, 120 minutes. Two sections: Domain Knowledge (60 marks) + General Aptitude — English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness & Current Affairs (40 marks). Conducted in English only. No negative marking. Call letter available ~10 days before CBT via the BPCL Careers website + email/SMS intimation.
- Stage 2 — Skill/Proficiency Test (SPT): for candidates qualifying the CBT cutoff, at the respective refinery location. Qualifying in nature only.
- Stage 3 — Pre-Employment Medical Examination: final appointment subject to meeting BPCL's medical fitness standards. Candidature remains provisional until appointment.
Merely qualifying the CBT does not guarantee an SPT call — that depends on the number of positions, reservation position, ratio applied, and relative performance within each category.
