Exam Preparation Tips for SPSC Warder 2026

Since the detailed syllabus is available in Appendix I & II on the SPSC website, here are key preparation tips to help you perform your best:

  • Download the Official Syllabus First: Visit spsc.sikkim.gov.in and download the detailed exam scheme (Appendix I) and syllabus (Appendix II) for the Warder post. Build your study plan around it.
  • General Knowledge & Awareness: Focus on current affairs, Indian History, Geography, Polity (especially relating to Sikkim), and general science. Warder-level exams typically include a strong GK component.
  • Sikkim-specific Knowledge: Study the history, geography, culture, languages, and customs of Sikkim thoroughly. Given the "conversant with customs and usages of Sikkim" requirement, Sikkim GK will carry significant weightage.
  • English & State Language: Brush up on basic English grammar and comprehension. Knowledge of a Sikkim state language (Nepali, Lepcha, Sikkimese, Limbu, etc.) will be tested. Practice reading and writing in your state language.
  • Mathematics & Reasoning: Basic arithmetic (up to Class X level), number systems, percentages, ratios, and simple logical reasoning are typically tested in Warder-level exams.
  • Physical Fitness: This is non-negotiable. Start a daily routine to work on your height posture, chest expansion exercises, and maintain/achieve the minimum weight requirement. Running, push-ups, pull-ups, and yoga will help.
  • Previous Year Papers: Solve previous year SPSC exam papers to understand the difficulty level, question pattern, and time management requirements.
  • Time Management: Practice answering MCQs within a time limit. Most government exams at this level are 1.5 to 2 hours long with 100 questions — practice completing papers in 90 minutes to build speed.
