🎓 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Regular Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute. Candidates must also be proficient in the local language (reading, writing, speaking, understanding) of the State/UT applied for, with documentary proof (Class 8/10/12 or Graduation marksheet showing the local language as a subject).

Important Restrictions

  • ❌ Candidates with Post Graduate qualification are NOT eligible.
  • ❌ Candidates with 1 year or more work experience are NOT eligible.
  • ❌ Candidates should NOT have completed 5 years after passing qualifying exam.

💵 Stipend & Training Details

  • Monthly Stipend: ₹12,300/month (no DA, conveyance, or other allowances)
  • Training Period: 12 months
  • Training Hours: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no overtime)
  • Leave: 1 Casual Leave per month (max 4 at a time)
  • Holidays: As per bank holidays
  • Employment Guarantee: ❌ Apprentices are NOT employees; no guarantee of bank job after training

✅ Selection Process

Selection is purely merit-based — there is NO written exam. Steps:

  1. Merit List — Prepared State-wise, District-wise & Category-wise on the basis of 10+2 (Class 12) marks in descending order.
  2. Tie-breaker — If two candidates have same marks, higher age gets preference.
  3. Document Verification — Selected candidates called for DV with originals.
  4. Medical Fitness — Final engagement subject to medical fitness as per bank's requirement.

📝 How to Apply Online — Step-by-Step

  1. Register on NATS Portal: First, register on apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and nats.education.gov.in with 100% completed profile.
  2. Visit Bank Website: Go to punjabandsind.bank.in → Click "Recruitment" → Select the Apprentice notification.
  3. New Registration: Register with name, email, mobile number — note your Registration No. & Password.
  4. Fill Application: Enter personal, educational, address, and NATS Enrollment ID details.
  5. Select State & District: Choose ONE state and ONE district (cannot be changed later).
  6. Upload Documents: Photo, signature, thumb impression, hand-written declaration, live photo (.jpg/.jpeg format).
  7. Pay Fee: ₹100 (SC/ST/PwBD) or ₹200 (Gen/OBC/EWS) via Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI.
  8. Submit & Print: Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.
