📌 UGC NET June 2026 – Overview

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the UGC NET June 2026 notification on 29 April 2026 on its official portal ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level examination conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. programmes in Indian universities and colleges. The online application process started on 29 April 2026, and eligible candidates can apply until 20 May 2026 (11:50 PM). The examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for 85 subjects from 22 June to 30 June 2026.

UGC NET is conducted for 85 subjects including Humanities, Social Sciences, Languages, Computer Science, Commerce, etc. Candidates must choose the subject of their Post-Graduation. Major subjects include:

✅ What is the eligibility criteria for UGC NET June 2026?

🎓 Educational Qualification

  • General Category – Minimum 55% marks in Master’s degree
  • OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender – Minimum 50% marks in Master’s degree
  • 4‑Year Bachelor’s Degree – Candidates with 4‑year Bachelor’s degree (at least 75% marks) are also eligible
  • Final Year Students – Candidates appearing in the final year of Master’s can also apply provisionally
  • Subject Choice – Candidates must appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation
