Jharkhand TET 2026 – Notification Out, Apply Online for JTET 2026
📌 Jharkhand TET 2026 – Overview
The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has officially released the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) 2026 notification on 28 March 2026. This is a state-level eligibility examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers in government schools across Jharkhand for classes 1 to 5 (Primary Level) and classes 6 to 8 (Upper Primary Level). After a gap of nearly ten years, the JTET is being conducted again, making it an extremely important opportunity for teaching aspirants in the state.
The online application process for JTET 2026 started on 21 April 2026 and will continue until 21 May 2026. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online through the official JAC portal. The JTET is a mandatory eligibility test for anyone seeking teaching positions in Jharkhand government schools. Without a valid JTET certificate, candidates cannot apply for teacher recruitment vacancies in the state.
The notification released by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) contains all the important details regarding eligibility conditions, application procedure, exam pattern, syllabus, and fee structure. However, as of 27 April 2026, the exam date is yet to be announced by the authorities. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official JAC website for updates on the examination schedule.
Important note regarding JTET Rules 2026: The original Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test Rules 2026 (Niyamavali) have been cancelled due to an unresolved linguistic dispute regarding the inclusion of regional languages such as Bhojpuri, Angika, and Magahi. The notification was issued prematurely before Cabinet approval, leading to the current situation. The state government is expected to resolve the language issue in an upcoming Cabinet meeting, which may affect the examination timeline by 1 to 1.5 months. Despite this, the online application window remains open as per the original schedule. Candidates are advised to stay updated on any further developments regarding the cancellation and potential revision of the JTET rules.
